Case Study: Igniting your Motivation
A client of mine was looking for more profitable clients for his graphic-design business. This task was a very strong priority for his company. However, his motivation to actually go out and find this elusive customer was almost non-existent.
So, I asked him what was really going on. He revealed to me that he only did graphic design to pay the mortgage. His real love was completely different. Since our discussion, he has been focusing more on what he loves. While he still works in graphic design, he focuses more of his attention on his passion. As a result, he’s transforming his life.
A misalignment of motivation and priority is why we are not always driven to complete the task at hand. When our motivation is not in line with our priorities our energy levels can take a giant hit. How can we change our levels of motivation? Setting goals is not enough. Discover what drives ignites your desire. After all, if your motivation is low you will never accomplish your goal.
